Celebrity's Ring Is So Valuable, Security Team Follows Her to Protect It
“So happy & excited to be engaged to the love of my life. My best friend & soulmate,” the newly engaged woman shared on Instagram.
She posted a picture of herself gazing at the man on one knee holding an open ring box.
The location tagged on the photo is Aspen Mountain. The proposal in the snowy mountains looked beautiful.
The picture along with the caption sounds like something you might come across on one of your friend’s posts. Perhaps you posted a similar engagement announcement on social media.
There is something completely uncommon about this proposal, however. The ring is worth $2 million.
Paris Hilton is the woman and celebrity who recently got engaged to Chris Zylka. Imagine walking around with $2 million on your finger!
With a ring of such value comes greater risk should it be damaged or stolen. Since the proposal, a security team has followed Hilton to protect the ring.
For most of us, the idea of having guards dedicated specifically to protecting a piece of jewelry we wear probably sounds outlandish.
But based off of other celebrities’ experiences, the desire for protection is understandable.
After all, Kim Kardashian was robbed of her valuable jewelry while being held at gunpoint. Hilton, unsurprisingly, is not new to being protected by security.
Her home has security at all hours. The guards specific to protecting the ring wear normal pedestrian clothing so they don’t stand out in a crowd.
The ring, however, stands out. The 20-carat pear-shaped diamond is set in a platinum halo band.
Zylka knew he wanted to get Hilton a pear-shaped diamond because Hilton’s mom has a pear-shaped diamond herself. The jeweler, Michael Greene, told US Magazine that Zylka asked Hilton’s dad for permission before proposing.
Clearly, this proposal using the $2 million ring has both traditional and extremely unique elements. Hilton wrote on Instagram that she feels “like the luckiest girl in the world.”
Of course, she didn’t go on to explain she felt that way because of the valuable ring, but because of who Zylka is as a person.
Hilton described her new fiance as “dedicated, loyal, loving & kindhearted,” which is more valuable than any ring!
