1 Chilling Event Changed James Woods Forever: 'I've Never Traveled Unarmed Since That Day'
Actor and conservative firebrand James Woods shared a bit of his personal story with his followers on Twitter and it sends a strong pro-Second Amendment message.
According to Woods, he experienced a terrifying moment over 50 years ago and it changed his life forever.
“I was robbed at gunpoint in a New York subway in my twenties,” he wrote Tuesday. “When a stranger puts a loaded gun to your head, you feel certain your life is over at that moment. Don’t even discuss it, if it hasn’t happened to you.”
“I have never traveled unarmed since that day,” he concluded.
I was robbed at gunpoint in a New York subway in my twenties. When a stranger puts a loaded gun to your head, you feel certain your life is over at that moment. Don’t even discuss it, if it hasn’t happened to you. I have never traveled unarmed since that day.

Woods received dozens of replies on the post with people sharing their own experiences of being threatened at gunpoint or otherwise being the victim of a crime.
I was shot in the back 3 times by 4 thugs in Birmingham, AL. attempting to carjack me on Dec.1, 2014. Lived to tell about it and have carried ever since as well. Those who have not been in that situation should not speak as of they have and I hope they never will be.

Same here. As a former hands-on Big Bank IT Security Chief responsible for systems all over the city 24/7/365, I’d missed being shot 3 times in NYC during my last month of pregnancy alone!
Learned self-defense & have been armed ever since.
An armed society is a polite society! 👍— Deplorable Dame ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@DykstraDame) January 15, 2019
Had a gun and a threat over 30 years ago. I have a CWP and I carry all day every day.

Like Woods, I also had a gun pointed at my head by a man who had the intent of killing me. In those moments, which seemed like an eternity, I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
A notion consumed me that if I moved, or breathed, or did anything at all other than stand perfectly still, he would pull the trigger and I would be dead. I can’t tell you why, but he suddenly changed his mind about killing me. From that day forward, I took steps to be better able to protect myself.
With these experiences comes the first-hand knowledge that you can either be a victim or be prepared.
Thankfully, the Second Amendment guarantees Americans the right to protect themselves — whether from a tyrannical government or a violent killer.
So when Woods or anyone else opts to bear arms, they are acting well within their natural rights and the Constitution of the United States.
Sadly, that’s something Democratic politicians, many of whom have armed security, are seeking to take away from everyday Americans.
Where is their rationale for trying to make the American populace defenseless? Some would say it is the clear action of tyrants.
