Choir's Cover of Worship Song 'Better Is One Day' Goes Viral

Share

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? So is it fair to say that it’s in the ear of the beholder as well? Perhaps.

Or, might it be more accurate to say that some things are simply lovely, no matter what anyone says or thinks about them.

Beauty crowns the laugh of a child. It’s hidden within the smile of a blushing bride. It’s apparent on the slumped shoulders of a wise old man.

The kind of beauty that’s fleeting isn’t true beauty at all. No, true beauty is the kind that lasts and never gets old with age.

You might even say true beauty is classic. Why else would classical music stand the test of time, while quick one-hit wonders are soon forgotten year after year?

One choir that’s gone viral on social media has a grasp on what beauty looks — and sounds — like. Their voices alone will make you stop and listen in.

Better Is One Day” by worship artist Matt Redman is a church song that’s over two decades old. Originally released in 1995, this tune has been covered by professional and amateur artists alike.

This is song isn’t just beautiful, it describes beauty as perceived through the eyes of someone who cares nothing for this world.

“One thing I ask, and I would seek, to see your beauty,” the lyrics read. Redman describes one day in Heaven as better than thousands anywhere else.

Which brings us back to the choir that’s given this hymn new life. Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar choir were recently featured on ChoirBuzz.

Known for their renditions of gospel songs, this group of fine human beings does music right. Their voices meld perfectly with the melody and lyrics.

A beautiful song performed by a stunning choir. Their passion spills forth with every line they sing. Did anyone else get goosebumps listening to this?

The group is on tour through April 2019. According to their website they’re “positioned to be one of the brightest new groups on the gospel scene.”

After watching their viral rehearsal, who can argue with them? I hope they visit my state someday soon. If they sound this good online, I can only imagine what they sound like in person. Now that would be a “better” day indeed.
