Cinderella Season Continues: Kentucky Wins with :00 Left on the Clock
When it comes to Kentucky sports, late October usually means fans are getting ready for college basketball, whether it be with the University of Kentucky or the University of Louisville.
But UK’s football team had thrown a wrench into those plans thanks to a surprising 6-1 start as it entered play Saturday.
No. 12 Kentucky looked as though it was on the verge of dropping its second game of the season after Missouri shut down the Wildcats’ offense and kept UK out of the end zone for the first 60 minutes of the game.
However, a pass interference penalty in the end zone with no time remaining the clock game gave UK one untimed down from the 2-yard line and the Wildcats took advantage of the extra play.

Trailing 14-9, Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson hooked up with tight end C.J. Conrad for the walk-off touchdown.
The Wildcats sideline then rushed the field to celebrate while the Missouri home fans were left stunned as the Tigers remained winless in the SEC.
“I felt like I was going to have a heart attack,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said afterward about the game’s final play.
If Stoops almost had a heart attack on the sideline, he most definitely nearly had another after the game when he went crowd surfing in the locker room.

This was an agonizing loss for Missouri, which did almost everything it needed to do in order to win the game.
UM held Kentucky’s Bennie Snell to just 67 rushing yards on 19 carries. Snell was the nation’s sixth-leading rusher coming into the game.
The Tigers’ defense also prevented conversions on three of Kentucky’s fourth-down attempts in the game, but couldn’t get a stop when it mattered most.
After the game, Missouri coach Barry Odom declined comment when asked if pass interference should have been called to give Kentucky an extra play.
But he did talk about the emotions his players were going through when losing a game just seconds after they thought they had won.
“There’s anger, there’s hurt, there’s sadness — about every emotion on that side of things that you can feel,” Odom said. “That’s what we have.”
