See Hilarious Moment Cops Grieve Loss of Burned Doughnut Truck

Share

Everyone has heard the long-standing joke about cops and doughnuts, but these police officers put a spin on the stereotype that sparked laughter and support for the men and women in blue.

When a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts truck caught on fire in Kentucky, the Lexington Police Department mourned the loss of those mouth-watering doughnuts.

The truck was a complete loss and the doughnuts aboard were burnt to a crisp.

Luckily the driver of the truck was able to escape the flames without injury, but the doughnuts were a complete and utter loss, according to KOLD.

Three police officers showed their devastation at the loss of the much-loved glazed treats and posted the pictures on the department’s Facebook page.

The post was perfectly captioned, “No words” with the three officers on the brink of mock tears.

Their sadness was felt the world over as they received responses from other police forces and civilians.

One Facebook comment from the Police Service of Northern Ireland read, “The Horror!

Do you like this play on the joke about cops and doughnuts?

“We may call a Donut a Gravy Ring here in Northern Ireland but we can still understand your pain. Stay strong guys; tough times don’t last, tough cops do. #WeStandWithLPD”

Even the Australia’s Inner West Police Area Command force got in on the tongue-in-cheek joke by posting, “Our hearts are breaking all the way from Sydney Australia!”

Civilians also shared their condolences. One commenter wrote, “Sorry for your loss guys. I’m not going to try to sugarcoat this, I guess it’s all down-hole from here. I hope the jam wasn’t too bad because of this deep fried truck.

“I just pray that you all have batter days ahead!”

The joke wasn’t lost on anyone as the post shared by the Lexington Police Department has over 3,300 comments and over 83,000 shares as of Thursday morning.
