What Dad Found in Girl's Journal Shows Shootings Are NOT "Toxic Masculinity"
In the aftermath of virtually every mass shooting, liberals will decry the “gun culture” of the United States and demand that strict gun control measures be imposed to guard against such incidents in the future.
In recent years, some liberal feminists have added “toxic masculinity” to the mix of what must be done away with in order to keep people safe, as was laid out by the Huffington Post in November of 2017 after the Sutherland Springs church shooting in Texas.
The argument put forward by those feminists outraged by “toxic masculinity” is that virtually all mass shooters are men, that almost all of them are abusive toward women, that our society encourages such behavior toward women, and that “male privilege” allows men to feel they can be violent toward women without consequence.
Aside from being a frightening glimpse inside the mind of leftists and their view of a society they themselves have wrought, it is also just plain wrong, as women can be violent and commit mass casualty attacks just like men.
As evidence, check out this report from WJLA in March of 2017, which detailed how a Maryland father had turned his own daughter in to the police after he discovered that she was in the final stages of preparing for a mass shooting and bombing of her own at her high school.
The father of then-18-year-old Nichole Cevario contacted the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to report a “potential threat of violence” after he looked through his daughter’s journal and discovered incredibly detailed plans of an upcoming attack she intended to perpetrate on April 5, 2017.
The girl was quickly removed from the school and placed under mental evaluation at a local hospital while police conducted a search warrant of the home. It was there that they found her detailed journal, a shotgun, ammunition, pipes and end caps, shrapnel, fireworks and other materials used in constructing pipe bombs.
According to a January report from WTOP, Cevario was released from the hospital a short time later and subsequently arrested and charged with plotting to carry out an attack on her school.
As part of the planning for the attack, which had begun as far back as December of 2016, Cevario had studied the emergency procedures at her school and questioned the school resource officer about the sort of response a shooting would warrant. She had also purchased all of the necessary materials for her pipe bombs and intended to kill herself with the shotgun once her attack was completed.
In January, she was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years — 20 years in prison and five years supervised probation upon release.
It was recommended that she be placed in a special youthful offender program and it was stipulated that she stay away from all educational facilities, presumably for the remainder of her life.
Whether the feminists at Huffington Post want to believe it or not, this was a young woman — and not a male raised in a culture of “toxic masculinity” — who was planning a massacre at her high school.
Luckily, in this case, somebody saw something and said something, and then authorities actually did something — a sequence of events that we have come to find out doesn’t always occur as it should.
To be sure, there are plenty of “toxic” attributes to American society and culture these days, thanks to liberal moral relativism, but it is most certainly not confined to men only.
This incident proves that the cultural disease that is exemplified by an utter lack of respect for humanity for human life can be found in both men and women.
