Diamond and Silk Fire Back After Whoopi Goldberg Suggests Trump Be Waterboarded

Whoopi Goldberg might be rich and famous, but when it comes to Diamond and Silk, she’s just not in the same class.

The two North Carolina sisters, also known as Lynette Hardaway (Diamond) and Rochelle Richardson (Silk), are two of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken supporters among African-Americans in public life, and they proved it again in a Friday interview on “Fox & Friends.”

And Whoopi didn’t stand a chance.

The sisters were responding to Goldberg’s suggestion on ABC’s “The View’ on Thursday that Trump might have a different attitude about enhanced interrogation techniques like the practice known as waterboarding if he’d ever had to undergo it himself.

“Remember how the gentleman in the White House talked about torture on the campaign trail,” Goldberg said.

“What I’d like to say is, ‘I would like you to try it … People who have actually been tortured, who are saying this is not a good thing, you should listen to them. Because you have never been tortured.”

Richardson’s response was as smooth as her nickname.

“Well you know, why don’t Whoopi Goldberg try it?” she said. (As Hardaway chipped in a supportive, “That’s right.”)

“She needs to try respecting the president of the United States is what she needs to try and do.”

“The president of the United States is not a terrorist. He’s an American. He’s our president. So why would we waterboard him?” Richardson asked.

“If she wants to try what waterboarding feels like, why doesn’t she do it?”

Of course, Goldberg isn’t going to submit herself to being tortured. It’s too easy to sit on her perch at “The View” and hurl cheap insults a president and his supporters who are trying to clean up the country after the eight disastrous years of the Obama presidency.

Women like Hardaway and Richardson buck the conventional wisdom about blacks and women being automatic, slavish supporters of Democrat Party policies — the kind of conventional wisdom stereotype Goldberg and her ilk on “The View” personify every day.

Goldberg has her ABC contract. She has her audience of millions of indoctrinated liberals on “The View” — and any other television show she deigns to appear on.

But when she comes up against Diamond and Silk, she’ll always come up short.
