'It Disgusts Me': Actress Rosanna Arquette Apologizes for Being 'Born White and Privileged'
Actress Rosanna Arquette apparently has taken her latest cue from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke.
The two 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have made certain that recognizing the notion of “white privilege” is part of their campaigns. O’Rourke, the left’s rendition of Jeb Bush and Caspar Milquetoast, went so far as to apologize for his skin color.
Arquette inexplicably feels compelled to express similar regrets about how she appeared at birth. “I’m sorry I was born white and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame,” she wrote on Twitter, according to Fox News.
Her tweets have since become “protected” from those who don’t get approval to follow her Twitter account — which likely means Arquette regrets sharing the race-relation opinion and is too spineless to face questions about her comment.
It’s difficult to discern whether Arquette is merely acting, masquerading per her profession — though her career hasn’t exactly skyrocketed since “Pulp Fiction” in 1994.
Earlier this month, Fox News reported, the entertainer posted “a note of herself kneeling in front of several American flags noting that she doesn’t plan to stand for the flag anymore.”
Perhaps someone should inform Arquette she’s late to the protest party, as it was 2016 when then-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick began taking a knee during the national anthem before kickoff.
New York’s Gillibrand expressed her white guilt during the second round of Democratic debates in Detroit and via Twitter.
As a white woman and a U.S. Senator running for president of the United States, it is my responsibility to understand white privilege and to work to dismantle institutional racism in this country. This burden cannot be left to people of color alone. #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/0DJsK1yb4u

I don’t know about you, but I for one am relieved that Gillibrand feels responsible as a Caucasian to understand her white privilege. I’ll sleep better at night knowing the senator is lifting the racism “burden” off people of color because she is morally superior to other whites, particularly Republicans.
As for Arquette, her true intentions seem undetectable. The co-star of 1985’s “Desperately Seeking Susan” could be desperately seeking attention — a new movie role, perhaps.
Frankly, I hadn’t heard or read Arquette’s name since 2017, when she spoke out against now-discredited film producer Harvey Weinstein.
All the cameras in Hollywood won’t shed light on the woman’s motives.
Arquette can’t be considered brave for refusing to stand for the American flag since she waited years to see which way the wind is blowing. And she ought not be viewed as more caring and conscientious just for tweeting that she feels responsible for being born with white skin.
What can’t be disputed is Arquette’s latest behavior is, fittingly, that of a drama queen’s. Thanks to Democrats, she has quite a supporting cast.
