Eagles LB Kicks Anti-Cowboys Trash Talk Up a Notch with Heated Jab
The Dallas Cowboys might not be the hottest team in their own state thanks to the Houston Texans, but they are the hottest team in the NFC as they ride a four-game winning streak.
Dallas has vaulted to the top of the NFC East and posted a 3-1 divisional record, including a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 11.
But even with all of that, one Eagles linebacker doesn’t see the Cowboys as a serious threat, and he provided some Grade A bulletin-board material ahead of the teams’ rematch Sunday.
Kamu Grugier-Hill isn’t the biggest name in Philadelphia, but he’s made himself Public Enemy No. 1 among Dallas fans.
“I mean, look at Dallas’ history,” he told reporters Wednesday. “They always choke. So we’ll go down there and make them choke.”

Grugier-Hill is a third-year player who became a starter for the first time this season. He was born and raised in Hawaii, but he apparently knows lots about the recent history of the Cowboys.
From 2011 to 2013, they entered Week 17 with a chance to make the playoffs with a victory. However, Dallas lost that game each of those years and ended up missing the postseason.
All of those defeats were to NFC East teams, including one to the Eagles in 2013.
Quarterback Carson Wentz was asked about his teammate’s comments and gave a more political response.
“I don’t want to dive into that at all,” Wentz said. “All I know is, we and myself have, personally, a lot of respect for that team. A lot of respect for that team and what they are doing this year. We watch a ton of their defense. They do a lot of things well. They fly around, and they make it tough on offenses.
“I don’t want to dive into that. I just want to say personally and as a team we have a lot of respect for them and we are excited for this one.”

The first matchup between the teams was decided by one score as the Cowboys prevailed 27-20 in Philadelphia.
That game marked the start of their four-game win streak, which has rested on the strength of the defense that ranks second in points allowed.
The Cowboys will be well-rested after playing on Thursday last week. Dallas nearly shut out the league’s highest-scoring team in the New Orleans Saints, limiting them just to one touchdown in a 13-10 victory.
The Eagles are coming off two straight wins, which is their longest win streak of the season. They are entering the toughest stretch of their season as they play three division leaders over the next three weeks.
After playing at Dallas, Philadelphia will then travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams before coming home and facing the Texans.
