Erratic Driver Runs Toward Cop with Lifeless Baby in Arms After Being Pulled Over
As a mom, I’ve always wondered what would happen if I was pulled over during an emergency situation. What if I was in labor, or one of my children was injured and I got flagged down for speeding?
“Just call an ambulance,” some might say. But this isn’t always the fastest way to the hospital, truth be told. Plus, the bill for riding in an ambulance alone is known to be astronomical.
Depending on the circumstance, if push came to shove, you might find me speeding down the highway if it meant the difference between life and death for one of my kids.
It appears I’m not the only one who feels this way, either. Erratic driving behavior was reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday after 10 p.m.
According to KABC, Deputy Tyler Milton said he saw the driver on Lakewood Boulevard. Like any officer doing his duty, Milton turned on his siren and followed the driver until the motorist yielded and pulled over.
But this was no ordinary traffic stop. As soon as the vehicle in question came to a safe halt, KABC reported that a man exited the vehicle with a baby boy in his arms.
The 9-month-old was not breathing so Milton quickly jumped into action. He radioed for back-up and performed CPR on the infant.
When Deputy Alissa Farrington responded to the call, Milton remained with the child and continued to attempt to revive him.
This happened while Farrington drove them to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. The baby’s mother was with them, KTLA 5 reported.
Footage was captured of this heart pounding incident. Watch as Milton exits the police cruiser and quickly but carefully rushes him into the hospital.
At this point, it has been reported that the baby is doing okay and there is no evidence that the people with him intended harm.
Milton and Farrington are truly the heroes of the week.
“I think we all should thank them for their life saving and heroic actions…” Captain Richard Harpham told KTLA 5.
Indeed. These deputies definitely deserve recognition. If I was ever in a life threatening situation, I’d definitely want them by my side.
