Exhausted Mom Flying with Age 2 & Age 5 Kids Meets Angel on Plane, Snaps Beautiful Photo
“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport.” This is the opening line from “Love Actually” — perhaps one of the most heartwarming Christmas films of all time.
If you can set aside the film’s moments of crudeness, or better yet catch the clean TV version, the stories won’t fail to make you cry. I can’t help but reach for the tissues in the end.
A viral post on Facebook shared by one mom made me think of this film, and how love is everywhere — especially at the airport.
Some of the sweetest tales of good Samaritans can be found while waiting for a departure, or even during takeoff.
They usually involve a tired parent with a screaming child in need of some extra compassion. Becca Kinsey is one such parent.
“So I thought it was a good idea to fly by myself with a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old,” she shares on Facebook, recounting her story.
“We were standing in line in security, on the verge of tears, because Wyatt was screaming and James was exhausted.”
Oh, don’t all moms relate to this story? I recently traveled with an infant. One was plenty to keep my hands full, but two? This mama is a hero in my book.
“Out of the blue,” Kinsey goes on, “one mom stops the line for security and says ‘Here, jump in front of me! I know how it is!'”
This kind stranger really made Kinsey’s day, but then she says another mom stepped in too, helping her carry her bags through security and to the gate.
Two kind strangers turned things around for her that night. But that’s not even the best part. “To top it all off, Wyatt starts to scream at take off before he finally falls back to sleep,” Kinsey says.
Yet another stranger offered a kind hand. “After about 45 min, this angel comes to the back and says, ‘You look like you need a break,’ and holds Wyatt for the rest of the flight.”
Kinsey shared a picture of the “angel” who held her sweet son. Living proof “love actually is all around,” as the movie says.
What an amazing story and a good reminder that we can find love, kindness and compassion if we only take a moment to look.
Here’s a big shout out to Becca Kinsey’s angel and all the other sweet souls who have performed similar acts. May you be blessed as much as you have blessed others!
