Famous Country Artist Jana Kramer Shuts Down Body Shamers' Attack on Postpartum Body
“Why do we women have to compare ourselves to each other and then shame?” A valid question posed by Jana Kramer that many of us moms probably ask all too often.
Kramer is probably most well known for her catchy country tunes and authentic podcast, “Whine Down with Jana Kramer.“
The wife and mom may be a celebrity, but she likes to get real, often sharing on her podcast about everyday life.
Kramer gave birth to her second child in November 2018 — a beautiful son named Jace Joseph. She and her husband Mike and their daughter Jolie Rae couldn’t look happier in the photos Kramer shared on Instagram.
But all that joy was, sadly, attacked when Kramer shared a photo of her postpartum body. In the photo, the post-c-section mom can be seen wearing form-fitting clothes.
She looks amazing! So full of life and light following to birth of her sweet baby boy. Which is why some of the comments she received on said photo are completely baffling.
Several haters posted nasty comments, shaming Kramer for sharing a photo of herself in clothes that hugged her figure.
Thankfully, many other followers jumped in to back Kramer up, telling her she’s beautiful and encouraging her not to listen to the hate.
Kramer decided to share a response of her own in a separate post. The words she offered are sobering for any mom shamer out there.
“A few things because honestly I’m so frustrated and I need to vent this,” the 35-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Kramer went on to explain that she didn’t have a tummy tuck or a personal chef. “Our bodies are all beautiful and crafted differently,” she shared.
Well said. So much truth here. The best part was when she urged anyone reading to lift others up rather than tear them down.
“Can we be kinder to ourselves…?” she asked. I think we all ought to answer with a great big “Yes!” Let’s build one another up, shall we? Otherwise, as the old saying goes, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”
