Taylor Swift Stuns Little Girl Burned by Fire Pit Explosion & Recovering in Hospital
Most of us look forward to the end of winter. With warmer weather upon us, the time has come for campfires and s’mores.
But for one family in Arizona, an fun evening in their front yard turned into a nightmare. In March, the McCunes were sitting beside their homemade fire pit when it unexpectedly exploded.
“We never intended… for this fun night… to turn so tragic,” Lilly McCune commented in an interview. The most heartbreaking part was that their 8-year-old daughter, Isabella, suffered the worst injuries of all.
While her father did sustain burns, little Isabella ended up with third degree burns all over her body. She’s had to undergo multiple surgeries, but she wasn’t able to walk or speak for over two months.
The road ahead is still a long one, and Isabella isn’t able to get out and do much. She can’t even go see her favorite singer in concert.
However, her injuries didn’t stop her from reaching out to the one and only Taylor Swift. The singer is kicking off her “Reputation” tour in Glendale, Arizona, not too far away from the Arizona Burn Center where Isabella is recovering.
“I heard you were here,” Isabella said. “I wanted to visit you, but maybe you can come and visit me.”
While many in the media have been unkind to the singer in recent times, this hasn’t deterred her from continuing to do what she is well known for — loving on her fans.
Swift showed up to Isabella’s hospital room wearing a yellow gown and a huge smile on her face. “She just was so natural… such a breath of fresh air,” Lilly McCune said of the experience.
The star spent thirty minutes with Isabella and her family. And she didn’t leave without writing a special note in the third grader’s memory book and showering her with all sorts of “Reputation” swag.
“I love Taylor Swift,” Isabella shared. And it seems Swift loves her too.
What a perfect way to continue her recovery. No doubt this special day has brightened Isabella’s spirits, and motivated her to keep working toward her goals.
The two ended the visit with a hug, and Swift wrote that she “can’t wait to have [Isabella] at a show.” Some might criticize Swift and report this was purely a publicity stunt, but I think the genuine smiles on the McCunes’ faces speak volumes.
With all the chatter and controversy buzzing around some of the lyrics on Swift’s newest album, the singer hasn’t gained the best “reputation.” But her true fans remain loyal, and I know one little girl who can’t wait until the day she can “shake it off” and find a front row seat where I’m sure her favorite star will be glad to see her.
