Footage emerges of Paul Pierce goading LeBron before the 4th quarter of Game 7
It’s always better to let a sleeping dog lie.
Don’t poke the bear.
Especially when the bear is also “The King.”
The legend of LeBron James has taken several steps forward, as he’s brought a Cleveland team fraught with injury and inexperience to the Cavaliers’ fourth straight NBA Finals.
Whether you’re a LeBron backer or a Michael Jordan guy, there’s no denying James’ greatness.
Last weekend, facing elimination, Cleveland lost Kevin Love to a concussion in the first quarter of Game 6.
No problem for the King, who put up a ridiculous 46 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in a comeback win.
Then Sunday in Game 7 at TD Garden, James did it again, with 35 points, 15 boards and nine assists, to earn his eighth consecutive appearance in the Finals.
Now it appears that a former Celtic great might have helped fuel LeBron.
On Wednesday, TNT producer Mike Goldfarb shared footage of Paul Pierce shouting toward James in Game 7.

Pierce and James had plenty of playoff battles over the years.
We don’t know if “The Truth” was talking smack to James or what he was saying.
We do know that emotions were running high with a chance to go to the Finals on the line.
Jayson Tatum had the dunk of the year — over LeBron — and watch Pierce’s reaction.
It’s hard to blame Pierce for that reaction, but clearly LeBron got the last laugh — or shout.
We don’t know what’s going to happen in Warriors vs. Cavs IV, but Golden State is an overwhelming favorite.
If Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and especially Draymond Green are smart, they won’t do anything to incite The King.
