Girl Sobbing When Step Mom Gets Down on One Knee and Asks Her To Be Her 'Real Daughter'

Everyone loves a good proposal. There’s just something about asking someone else to spend the rest of their life with you.

Proposals come in all shapes and sizes. Some are extravagant, while others are intimate and simple. And not all proposals have to do with marriage, either.

Social media was created for the purpose of sharing life’s big events. Family and friends live out of state? No problem!

Just record and upload a video of that graduation, wedding, or birth. Social media closes the distance and can make you feel as if you’re right there, even when you’re not.

A popular trend on social media in recent years has been adoption proposals. Sometimes children propose to their stepparents, and other times it’s stepmom or dad who ask for a child to become their own.

The videos are always tearjerkers. If you’ve personally experienced the love of a stepparent or adopted child, moments like these probably tug at a special place in your heart.

The Davis family from Oklahoma will certainly pull at your heartstrings when you see the love they share for one another.

When Kacie Davis met her husband Jonathan Davis in 2013, he already had two children. One was nearly an adult, but the other, Brilee, was still young.

Brilee’s biological mother hasn’t been around for her daughter much. It’s been Kacie who has treated the girl like her own from the beginning.

Jonathan and Kacie have had two children since they married in 2014. But the time soon came when Kacie decided she wanted to make her relationship with Brilee official.

Watch as she asks Brilee to stand up in the center of their living room. It’s not long before she breaks down into tears over what Kacie has to say to her.

“Brilee Davis, you have been like a daughter to me from the day that I met you,” Kacie says. “And I wanted you to be not like a daughter anymore. Now will you be my real daughter?”

When Kacie brandishes a ring it’s all over from there. Even Dad can’t help but shed a few tears. “Is dad crying?” one of their other children asks.

He certainly is, and I don’t blame the guy. So happy for this sweet family. It’s clear that this mother and daughter were meant to be.

People have even commented that the two look alike on Kacie’s Facebook page. “We used to explain,” Kacie wrote. “Not anymore. Now she just says thank you so much!!!”

Their mother-daughter bond can only grow stronger from here. This just goes to show that family can be more than blood — family is who loves you unconditionally, no matter where you came from.
