Guy on Twitter Claims Keanu Reeves Once Bought an Ice Cream Cone Just To Autograph Receipt
If you were on a plane and could sit next to any celebrity, who would you choose? I’ve often heard this question, and more often than not I hear people respond with one name — Keanu Reeves.
Rumor has it the “John Wick: Chapter 2” star just so happens to be the kindest celeb ever. In one recent story, Reeves helped passengers exit a plane following an emergency landing.
Not only did Reeves speak calmly to both the airline staff and passengers, he also read fun facts about Burbank, California, while riding in a van to keep some passengers entertained, according to USA Today.

Haters might call situations like this “publicity stunts.” I prefer to call them good old fashioned examples of true humanity. The guy is one in a million and is known for being an all around nice dude.
From covertly funding children’s hospitals and cancer research, to treating a pair of trespassing fans with kindness and respect, Reeves certainly has a reputation for being benevolent and approachable.
Now another story has surfaced in honor of Reeves’ most recent film release. One fan tweeted a story of the actor’s big-hearted kindness you won’t soon forget.
James Dator shared the memory in a Twitter thread of a time during his teen years when he worked at a movie theater in Sydney.

“Keanu came to the movie theater I worked at in Sydney in 2001,” Dator wrote. “He was working on the Matrix series at the time. It’s a quiet, Wednesday morning — almost nobody is seeing movies.”
Dator went on to explain how Reeves walked up to the box office window wearing a “weird equestrian looking helmet.” Sixteen-year-old Dator was a bit star-struck and even offered his employee discount.
“This means he needs to sign my sheet and therefore I have his autograph,” Dator explained.
But Reeves wouldn’t accept the special treatment. He told Dator he wasn’t an employee, bought his ticket at the regular price and went inside.

A knock on the box office door soon followed, and there was Reeves, ice cream cone in one hand and a signed receipt in the other.
“I realized you probably wanted my autograph,’ he says,'” Dator wrote. “‘So I signed this.’ He hands me a receipt from the concessions stand that he signed on the back. He then casually throws an ice cream cone in the trash can and sees his movie.”
“I realize later that he bought an ice cream cone he didn’t want,” Dator added, “just to get receipt paper so he could scribble his autograph for a 16-year-old idiot.”

Wow! What a guy! Reeves is both a big-shot star and thoughtful human. I would have framed that receipt if this had happened to me.
