Hours After His Death, Citizen Shows Up to George HW Bush's House with Incredible Gift

Share

Suffice to say, 2018 hasn’t exactly been the year of harmony and patriotism.

If anything, it has been the year of discord and anti-American sentiments.

If it’s not Antifa thugs defacing the American flag, it’s the never-ending ideological clashes between the far left and far right slowly picking apart America at the seams.

2018 has truly been a chaotic year. But amid the dust and rubble of chaos, there have been some truly patriotic gems buried underneath.

It only takes one person to remind us that there are still Americans who love our country and see to show respect for our nation’s leaders.

CNN posted a video on Twitter showing a very patriotic American hanging a flag on a gate in memory of George H.W. Bush hours after the 41st president passed away.

The flag and a vase full of flowers were placed outside of Bush’s home in Houston. The patriot stood back for a moment and admired his handy work before going on his way.

It’s a small and thankless gesture in the grand scheme of things, as the man has not been identified nor does he seem interested in receiving public credit for it.

But in a way, that makes it all the more refreshing in a year filled with celebrity grandstanding and self-aggrandizing.

The unidentified man was not looking for attention, and it’s not even clear if he was aware he was being videotaped. Not once does the man look at the camera and as soon as he’s done, he walks away without making a scene or calling attention.

Of course, just because he was trying to avoid any public credit doesn’t mean some wasn’t deservedly heaped on him. Noted conservative Kyle Kashuv was one of the most prominent commentators on Twitter to commend the man.

“Whoever this is, America owers you debt of gratitude,” Kashuv wrote.

Again, it may have taken the death of a prominent American figure, but for at least this fleeting breath of fresh air, we can all agree that this man has done an awesome job.
