Husband Takes Christmas Tree Outside But Dogs Refuse to Let Him Get Rid of It
After the holidays, the traditional “honey-do” list can sometimes go a little haywire. It often morphs from a couple basic requests to an onslaught of time-sensitive activities.
Typical items might include, “take down our outside lights before the neighbors start to say something,” and/or “please break down these 37 boxes left over from Christmas morning.”
Of course, for families with a live tree, a trip to remove it generally takes top priority.
Admittedly, it’s sometimes tough to see that gorgeous tree go. After all, it’s associated with some wonderful seasonal memories.
Kids remember all those gifts from Santa arranged beneath its branches.
Adults recall its fresh woodsy smell, or the way its lights sparkled during the first winter snowfall.
And we can’t forget the family canines. Because let’s face it — dogs can be sentimental too, right?
Sure, they might gaze at that sturdy tree trunk and basically see a giant chew toy. But it’s at least theoretically possible that some dogs struggle with post-holiday blues.
Or maybe, the dogs in question just like giving their loyal master a very hard time. Witness a humorous video recently posted to social media by one highly amused wife.
The short snippet shows a helpful husband hauling the family tree down toward the back of a spacious backyard.
He appears headed for the woods at the edge, where he intends to dispose of his cumbersome cargo.
But basically from the outset, it’s clear his two canines have other ideas. One of those ideas appears to involve a spirited game of “Tree Tug-O-War.”
Off-camera, the entertained wife stifles giggles as her husband pulls and wrenches with everything he’s got. His mood appears playful and lighthearted — just a guy accompanied by his faithful dogs, enjoying one last bit of festive fun.
After spending a few exaggerated moments falling down and rolling around on the ground, the determined pet owner is ultimately victorious.
He seizes the tree from his two romping hounds, and chucks it straight over the fence.
The pups bark energetically, while the wife laughs appreciatively. Meanwhile, viewers across social media are chuckling right along.
