Hypocritical Schumer: Critics Call Out Dem Leader After He Inadvertently Proved Trump's Point

It’s always a wise idea to think before one engages one’s mouth. Someone should have warned Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that this idea also applies to Twitter.

In what some would call a clear example of Trump Derangement Syndrome, in his eagerness to attack President Donald Trump, Schumer actually proved Trump’s point about partisan judges. The result was a very public and epic backfire.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts took a swipe at Trump regarding his comment about partisan judges appointed under former President Barack Obama. Schumer tweeted this in response:

It did not go unnoticed in the Twitterverse that Schumer called decisions by a Supreme Court Justice “partisan.” This supports the point made by Trump that there is some partisanship by some judges.

Schumer was also hit on his apparent viewpoint that partisanship is only applicable when it disagrees with the left’s narrative. Otherwise, it is “independent.”

The whole situation began after an injunction was issued by an Obama-appointed judge on the infamous Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which is commonly thought of as being left-leaning and rife with “activist judges.” The injunction put a halt to Trump’s “emergency restrictions on asylum claims,” reported Fox News.

Trump’s response about the injunction took aim at the court and Obama appointees. “You go to Ninth Circuit and it’s a disgrace, and I’m going to put in a major complaint.”

“Because you cannot win, if you’re us, a case in the Ninth Circuit. Every case gets filed in the Ninth Circuit. … We get beaten, and then we end up having to go to the Supreme Court — like the travel ban — and we won.”

“We’re gonna have to look at that. That’s not law. That’s not what this country stands for.”

According to NPR, Roberts then did something he rarely does and rebuked the president. “We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges.”

“What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them. That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.”

Trump, being Trump, hit back at the rebuke. On Twitter.

He also doubled-down on his earlier assertion about what he views as a problematic court. Also on Twitter.

Trump also took another swipe at Roberts. In it, he also added to his criticism related to the border crisis.

It was after all of these tweets that Schumer sent out his. And did a world-class, albeit unintentional, job of backing up Trump’s point.

Do you think Sen. Schumer's tweet supported President Trump's point?

Schumer can’t have it both ways. Either some partisanship exists in the judiciary, or it does not. Either such a thing is not okay or it is.

Schumer’s tweet not only claims partisanship exists, but that a independent judiciary is the ideal. And that is the very point Trump has been making all along.
