Idiot Streaker Who Interrupted MLB Game Could Be Deported – Report
The first rule of immigration, no matter where you are in the world, is “if you’re not a citizen of a country, do not break that country’s laws.
Granted, you probably shouldn’t break the law in any event, but if you’re a citizen, you can at least weigh the pros and cons of whether the penalty for the punishment is worth the benefit gained from the crime, as anyone who’s ever spent a night in the drunk tank but got a great story out of it knows.
Along those lines, you occasionally get idiots on professional sports fields who run around stark naked, get tackled by security, plead guilty to a misdemeanor and become legends in their own minds.
Like this guy, who took a fun run through center field at a Mariners game against the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday night (no worries, the video is safe for work.)

The problem here is that the streaker is an Irish national, not a U.S. citizen, and now he’s potentially facing deportation proceedings.
Update: according to my source with the King County Sheriff’s office, last night’s streaker is still incarcerated. Since he is an Irish national, he could now be deported. Charges are very serious. All this because I’m told his buddies bet him $80..

The Irishman in question lives in Vancouver full time, but because of the way U.S. immigration law works, he’s likely to be deported not to his country of residence but to his country of origin.
So he doesn’t just get to go back home to Canada with an admonition not to try to come back south of the border.
If deportation proceedings are completed here, he will find himself shipped all the way back to Ireland.
The Blue Jays routinely attract enough fans from across Canada when they go to Seattle that the city is awash in Canadian accents saying “sorry, eh?” to the legion of homeless folks who line First Avenue between the downtown tourist traps and Safeco Field.
Most of the visiting fans are well-behaved as they make the Emerald City look like someone uprooted Toronto and stuck it in the Pacific Northwest.
Indeed, the Blue Jays players have come to expect a home-game atmosphere when they play at Safeco Field, including outfielder Kevin Pillar.

Pillar’s teammate Randal Grichuk had a similar reaction upon learning that the rumors he’d heard about the home atmosphere were as true as advertised.

And sadly, some idiot had to ruin it for an $80 bet. Probably for the best that he’ll be sent to Ireland, since he somehow managed to disgrace himself in the eyes of two countries on this side of the Atlantic in one go.
