In true T.O. fashion, Hall of Famer leads fans onto comeback only to reveal new Madden cover
Love him or hate him (and there are plenty of fans on each side of that ledger), Terrell Owens has been consistent with one thing.
His love of … himself.
As the soon-to-be-inducted Hall of Famer once famously said: “I don’t see outside of me.”
At least this time, his egocentricity is meant in good fun — we think.
Owens recently held a “news conference” after teasing fans about a potential comeback with this tweet on Thursday:

T.O. told his fans, “Hey guys, I know you’ve been hearing the news, the speculation of my return to the NFL. Well, I’m excited to report that I’ve made a signing.”
He then implored his followers to check out his social media channels on Friday for the big news.
Now the skeptics among us may have had our doubts.
After all, Owens has talked about returning to football many times, whether it be in Canada, or even with the Cowboys.

No, this time, after all these years, it seems like maybe — just maybe — Owens has accepted that he won’t be back on the field.

“There’s been a lot of speculation as to what I’m doing,” he said in a video posted to Twitter on Friday, ignoring that most of that speculation came from, well, himself.
“After a lot of discussion with my family, and every one of my coaches and stuff, I’ve decided it’s time to come back to the game. So with that being said, I’ve officially signed with Madden NFL 19 Hall of Fame edition.”
Sure, we can all argue that we’ve had enough of the T.O. act, but we can also all probably agree that better a video game than the real thing.
Owens will be enshrined in Canton this August.
