James Woods Excoriates Twitter CEO Over Conservative Censorship

Share

Actor and firebrand James Woods lashed out at Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Monday, announcing that he and conservatives like him would leave the biased social media platform in an instant if there was a viable alternative.

“If there were a competing social media platform as big as @Twitter, that had no ‘bias algorithms,’ I firmly believe that not one, single conservative would stay on Twitter. We would ALL jump ship. Please consider the implications of that, @jack,” Woods tweeted.

Woods shot at Twitter comes after numerous displays of blatant liberal bias and censorship from the social media platform in recent weeks.

In a recent algorithm change that promised to weed out “bad actors” from the site, Twitter hid several prominent Republican leaders from its search bar, including Rep. Devin Nunes, Rep. Matt Gaetz, Rep. Jim Jordan, and Rep. Mark Meadows.

“I don’t know what Twitter is up to,” Nunes said Sunday on Fox News. “It sure looks to me like they are censoring people and they ought to stop it, and we’re looking at any legal remedies we can go through.”

As noted by The Daily Caller, “Twitter has since restored the congressmen’s visibility on Twitter, but the underlying issue remains.”

It certainly does.

In addition to censoring top Republicans, Twitter has also targeted other conservatives, like the pro-life group Live Action, which has long worked to expose the evil going on behind Planned Parenthood’s door.

Do you think people should boycott Twitter?

“Twitter has completely BANNED us from advertising, and it is actively suppressing pro-life speech,” Live Action wrote in a Facebook post on Monday. “It even asked us to delete portions of our website, our investigative videos, and fact checks of Planned Parenthood, calling our content ‘offensive’ and ‘inflammatory.'”

Last week, Twitter also went after conservative blogger and commentator Kathleen McKinley, temporarily suspending her account for tweets the company classified as “hateful conduct.”

“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability or serious disease,” read a message from Twitter to McKinley. “As a result, we’ve temporarily limited some of your account features.”

McKinley’s so-called “hateful” tweets voiced her opposition to an Obama-era policy that allowed transgender people in the military, and called out an opponent for not acknowledging “extreme Muslim beliefs that condone honor killings.”

Not exactly “promoting violence.”

If the company’s hiring of the tech company Smyte is any indication, the censorship of conservatives is just beginning.

“The company in June acquired Smyte, a tech company whose specialties include fighting cyberbullying, ‘hate speech’ and trolling,” The Daily Caller explained. “Twitter’s third-party partners include the Southern Poverty Law Center, a left-wing nonprofit known for labeling pedestrian conservative organizations as ‘hate groups.'”

Woods isn’t the only one fed-up and ready to jump off the Twitter ship.

Along with Woods, conservatives across the country are sending a message to Jack Dorsey: Conservatives will not be silenced, we will not stand down, we are not going to sit idly by while our voices are silenced.
