Jim Acosta's Anti-Border Wall Remarks Publicly Shut Down by Trump Jr.
President Donald Trump traveled to the city of McAllen, Texas, on the southern U.S. border on Thursday, and was accompanied by a contingent of the mainstream media who covered the event.
One of those media figures to make the trip to McAllen was CNN’s Jim Acosta, who thought he was awfully clever when he posted a brief video on Twitter bragging about how safe and secure the city was.
The obvious insinuation by Acosta was that there was no real “crisis” at the border, and thus no need for additional funding for border security, much less for construction of a border wall or other physical barriers.
Except, Acosta filmed himself as he stood beside a section of the border which was defended by the same sort of “steel slat” wall that Trump has demanded more of, and he was roundly mocked on social media for essentially proving the president’s point about the effectiveness of border walls to provide safety and security.

The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., fired back with a tweet of his own, which read, “Of course you don’t Jim. That’s because walls work. Thanks for your help proving @realDonaldTrump’s point and simultaneously creating one of the best self-own videos ever!!!”

No doubt in an effort to try and punch back at Trump Jr., Acosta replied, “It’s a little strange Don. You guys seem to be saying the current measures in place are working. Does that mean your dad should reopen the government and get federal employees back to work? #byebye”

But the president’s son responded to that snarky reply from Acosta with some more snark of his own.
Trump Jr. tweeted, “I know this might be hard for you to comprehend Jimbo, but the reason why all of Twitter has been mocking you today is because you were at a part of the border WITH A WALL. So yes, of course it was working. Replicate that across the border & we’ll all be safer. #RealNews #ByeBye”

Donald Trump Jr. was far from the only person on Twitter to destroy Acosta for his ridiculous tweet behind the security of a border wall, as evidenced by the incredible number of hilarious replies found in the comment section of Acosta’s initial post.
In attempting to prove that there was no “invasion” or “crisis” at the border, all Acosta really did was display just how well walls work to provide safety and security for those who live behind them.
Jim Acosta absolutely deserves all of the mocking he has received thus far if only as the appropriate remedy for his absurd sense of self-importance and self-righteousness in all that he does, when in actuality he is just another lying partisan hack from the media pushing a leftist agenda of blind opposition to President Trump.
