Kareem Hunt's Victim Begged Cops To Watch Damning Footage, Wanted To Press Charges
The developing story involving 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Kareem Hunt continues to get messier with each new twist.
On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs released the star running back after TMZ Sports made public a hotel surveillance video of him assaulting a young woman in February.
On Saturday, TMZ reported that Hunt’s victim begged Cleveland police officers to watch the footage of Hunt’s assault upon her, but they declined.
The outlet released video of her interview with police, along with those of others at the scene.
The woman, identified as Abigail Ottinger, 19, told them that Hunt “assaulted me. He shoved me. He pushed me.” She made it clear she wanted to press charges against him.
“You can watch the videotapes, which I would like to see, if that’s possible,” she told police.
The officers, however, responded that to do such a thing would be outside their authority without a warrant, saying, “They don’t have to show us unless they’re ordered by a court,” TMZ reported.
“We know the hotel eventually turned over the surveillance video to investigators — but we’re not sure why prosecutors opted against filing a case considering what the video shows,” the outlet said.
After speaking with Ottinger, the officers went upstairs and interviewed Hunt and his friends, TMZ said.
One of them told police that Ottinger provoked the running back, saying, “F— you, n—–, you ain’t s—,” when Hunt and his group kicked her out of the party where the incident occurred for being under the legal drinking age, according to TMZ.
Ottinger said she was kicked out of the party for “refusing to hook up with one of the men” and not for being too young to drink alcohol.
The officers left the hotel without any charges filed or arrests made.
The Cleveland Police Department has not issued any statements to the media regarding this case
The Chiefs tweeted a statement Friday night regarding their release of Hunt, citing the fact that he was “not truthful” about what happened.

The NFL placed the running back on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List, and it remains to be seen when, or whether, he’ll return to professional football.
