Keanu Reeves Reportedly Helps Fellow Passengers After Plane Makes Emergency Landing

Share

It is sometimes hard to remember that actors are not exactly like the characters they portray in movies and television.

But Hollywood star Keanu Reeves has recently shown that he can be a hero on and off screen.

Reeves was on a flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles when disaster struck. The plane experienced mechanical difficulties, according to USA Today.

It had to land in Bakersfield, California, instead. That’s an unpleasant enough situation for an ordinary traveler to experience.

One can imagine how it might make a celebrity like Reeves feel a little put off. However, the “John Wick” star didn’t lose his cool.

Instead, he spoke in a cool and collected manner to airline staff. Then he recounted what they said to his fellow passengers.

Video captured by another traveler showed Reeves explaining, “The people who can unload the bags won’t be here for three hours. The vans will be here in an hour.

“So if you want to hit the road and deal with your bags later. Or deal with customer service and deliver it maybe.”

More footage showed him reading out facts about Bakersfield from Wikipedia while in a van. He cited little known truths such as how it’s the ninth most populous city in California and the fifty-second in the United States.

When snack time rolled around, he purchased Gatorade and a banana. He also played music on his phone when people started to get bored.

You get the idea: For a multi-millionaire movie star, he’s about as normal as they come in a crunch.

But even if Reeves acted the part of an ordinary Joe, other passengers still knew who he was. So he decided to indulge them and snapped pictures with fans, according to Fox News.

Amir Blum tweeted, “That time when your flight out from GDC almost crashes, and you have to emergency land in a remote airport, but at least Keanu Reeves is having as bad a day as you are.”

Another social media user using the handle @LikeAskAlexa wrote, “This was my Saturday, guys. The plane almost crashed and Keanu Reeves was on it.”

Reeves’ representatives have yet to comment about the incident. However, they don’t need to tell us what we already know: He’s a stand-up guy.
