Kim Kardashian Defies Media, Tells Trump 'Thanks' in Middle of 'Send Her Back' Controversy

Hollywood star Kim Kardashian West apparently doesn’t care about appeasing the establishment media by attacking President Donald Trump on her staple issue of criminal justice reform.

Instead, the superstar model approached the issue directly.

According to The Hill, Kardashian opted to seek direct assistance from the president and his staff in freeing rap star A$AP Rocky, along with two of his friends, from a Swedish jail. She thanked the administration for their efforts in a Thursday tweet.

“Thank you @realDonaldTrump, @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends,” Kardashian tweeted.

“Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated,” she added.

Earlier this month, the New York rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was arrested in Sweden after his involvement in a street fight. After the brawl, A$AP Rocky voluntarily headed to the Stockholm police department where he was officially detained.

Swedish authorities are stilling looking into whether or not A$AP Rocky committed a crime.

On Thursday, Axios reported that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was working with the Swedish government to arrange a settlement that would free A$AP Rocky. Kardashian had contacted Jared Kushner, a Senior Advisor to the President, about the incident.

Do you think it's refreshing to see a celebrity give Trump respect?

According to Yahoo, Trump noted during an Oval Office conference on Friday that there was an overwhelming amount of support for the rapper — some of which even came from First Lady Melania Trump.

“Many, many members of the African American community have called me, friends of mine, and said, ‘Can you help?’ So, I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky, but I can tell you that he has tremendous support from the African American community in this country and when I say African American I think I can really say from everybody in the country because we’re all one,” the president said.

“Actually, the one who knew about ASAP Rocky was our first lady. She was telling me about, ‘Can you help A$AP Rocky?’” Trump added.

“We’ll be working with the State Department and we hope to get him home soon,” the first lady remarked.

Kardashian has a history of working with the president on criminal justice reform; the incident with A$AP Rocky is just another example of her activism.

Last year, Kardashian’s husband, Kanye West, worked with Trump on the same issue, even donning a Make America Great Again hat on several occasions. As West became more involved with Trump, the left’s backlash against the duo hit new heights.

Eventually, Kardashian came out in defense of her husband and defied her Hollywood friends and critics, saying, “He’s a free thinker, is that not allowed in America?”

When Kardashian tells her tens of millions of followers on social media that she appreciates Trump’s help — even in the midst of his controversial battle against “the squad” — it’s clear that her support is genuine.

It’s refreshing to see a celebrity tackle serious issues with class and grace, showing respect for the president.

Heading into a vicious 2020 campaign season with the verbal support of one of the most famous celebrities in American history should be a great advantage for Trump.
