'Late Night' Host Seth Meyers in Trouble After Show's Stomach-Churning Joke About Dead Americans

Share

NBC’s “Late Night” host Seth Meyers is getting slammed after a heartless joke was sent from the “Late Night with Seth Meyers” Twitter account about the dead Americans whom President Donald Trump spoke about during his recent Oval Office address.

In his address, Trump specifically remembered California police officer Ronil Singh, who was killed the day after Christmas by an illegal immigrant.

Thirty-three-year-old Singh himself immigrated to the U.S. legally from Fiji. Mexican national Gustavo Perez Arriaga, who was charged with murdering Singh, is due back in court next month, according to Fox News. Singh left behind his wife and their 5-month-old son.

After the president’s address, the official “Late Night with Seth Meyers” Twitter account tweeted, “Is this Oval Office: SVU?”

During his address, Trump called the situation at the Mexico-U.S. border a “humanitarian and security crisis.”

He pointed out the rampant victimization of migrant children and the sexual abuse of migrant women.

The joke referred to special victims units, which are specialized divisions within some police departments which investigate crimes involving sexual assault or particularly delicate nonsexual crimes.

Was Meyers' joke sick?

Special victims units were made familiar to the public with the TV series Law & Order: SVU.

The cruel and tasteless joke was widely criticized on Twitter. Meyers’ former NBC colleague Megyn Kelly wrote, “I’m sure that’s hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed.”

This joke is yet another example of Hollywood leftists not practicing the compassion they claim to preach. This disgusting lack of sympathy is just further proof that leftists are against any everyday American who stands in the way of their agenda.

And sadly that includes victims of horrific crimes and their families.
