Little Neglected Pup Looks Just Like Tiny Walrus, Dumped near Church in Trash Bag
You can’t judge a book by its cover, and the same goes for animals. Just because a dog or cat may look a bit mangled on the outside, it doesn’t mean they don’t have a big heart full of love on the inside.
Animal shelters care for many pets in need of good and caring homes. Some of these pets may be overlooked due to their appearances.
Maybe they’re missing a leg or an ear. Or perhaps they’ve been abused and neglected, missing fur and nutrition.
It’s the same old story time and time again. Sadly, many of these sweet but rough-around-the-edges animals never make it into the arms of a loving owner.
It’s wonderful when one of these animals gets some much-needed attention. Like the Shih Tzu from Virginia who’s gone viral, for example.
According to a Facebook post by Richmond Animal Care and Control, this dog “was discovered by a citizen near Rock Church (Southside Richmond, VA) in a garbage bag.”
The post goes on to say the pup is ridden with infection and RACC is asking for donations to help cover her medical care.
These photos are heartbreaking. This sort of cruelty is uncalled for. Whoever did this should have taken her to a shelter, not abused her in this horrible way.
Thankfully, the folks at RACC have taken Annabelle in and cared for her properly in the way she deserves.

RACC also asks that anyone with information regarding Annabelle’s mistreatment contact them by phone, email, or social media.
This darling Shih Tzu may look like a tiny, wrinkled walrus, but her viral photos have managed to touch a number of hearts.
Because of this, RACC shared that a donor is willing to give $1 per page like on Facebook and Instagram.
“Share and help us raise funds to save lives,” the post reads. Wow! That’s quite a generous donor. This is going to help so many animals in need.
It seems Annabelle has become the new mascot for RACC, too. “She’s so sweet and kind,” the director of RACC, Christie Chipps Peters, told The Dodo.
“It’s always a reminder to us that animals that come from the most horrific situations are often so sweet,” Peters continued, “and they’re so kind to people. We’re always inspired by their resiliency.”
