Magician Pulls Little Girl of Deployed Army Parents on Stage, Performs Trick She'll Never Forget
It’s not every day a magic show at the local junior high school transforms from ordinary to extraordinary.
Rabbits pulled from hats and typical card tricks are just a couple of the acts one might expect to see.
What you would most certainly not expect to witness is one little girl’s dreams come true. But leave it to a magician performing in Louisiana to do just that.
While the magician’s name is unknown, what we do know is this — the trick he pulled off to surprise little Addison Woodburn is truly heartwarming.
When he pulls her onto the gym floor stage, he asks her about the doll she’s holding. She tells him it’s her “mommy doll.”
I don’t know about you, but the waterworks started for me right then and there.
Next the performer asks her to stand back as he readies his trick for the crowd, showing everyone he has nothing up his sleeve, so to speak.
But when he throws Addison’s “mommy doll” into his collapsable set of boxes, what appears leaves everyone cheering.
Just watch the little girl’s face as she receives a surprise she’ll never forget.
Addison’s mother, Julia Woodburn, had been deployed with the U.S. Army in Kuwait for some time. I can’t imagine being away from my baby that long.
Her heart must have overflowed as she welcomed her little girl into her arms after I am sure what felt like a lifetime.
But a surprise visit from her mom was not the only one in store for Addison that day.
As the camera keeps rolling, the magician also reveals his assistant bear is not who he seems. With a little help, Addison’s father, Brian Woodburn, makes his way onto the scene.
If you weren’t crying at the beginning of the video, I’ll bet you didn’t hold it in for long after both of Addison’s parents squeezed her tight. What an amazing gift!
Aside from tugging at my heartstrings, this video reminded me just how much the men and women in our military sacrifice every day to keep us safe. Thank you, Julia and Brian, for your service and your sacrifice.
