Grigory Prutov was born a healthy baby in Russia. But later on in his life, things took an unfortunate turn.

He was diagnosed with muscular atrophy.

His spinal muscles began deteriorating at a rapid rate and eventually, were gone completely.

The horrific disease ended life as Grigory knew it. He was completely debilitated, not even able to walk.

In his 20th year of life, he weighed a mere 45 pounds. For most, it would have been hard to go on.

He spent most of his days at home alone because when he went out in public, people stared at him. It was more than Grigory could bear.

The internet quickly became his connection to the world outside his home. He didn’t have to step outside to experience life. He could do in right behind the screen of a computer.

“I can’t experience the world in all its beauty. I can’t swim in the ocean. I can’t run around in the grass,” Grigory said.

“I can’t take care of the people I love. I can’t make them happy … and I’ll never know what it’s like to be loved, how it feels when someone wants you.”

But fate had other plans in mine for Grigory. Just two months later, he met the love of his life, Anna.

She had so much in common with him it was hard for him to believe. From her love of art to her passion for writing, they were two of a kind.

But because they met online, he was terrified to reveal his condition to her.

However, her heart of gold prevailed. The moment he sent her a photo of himself, she decided to fly 3,000 kilometers to see him in person.

As soon as they met, they fell deeply in love. Not long after, they tied the knot.

Love is beautiful. There really is someone for everyone, you just have to be brave enough to go get it.

And always remember to be yourself. The perfect person for you will love you just the way you are.
