Mom Safely Gives Birth on Side of Road Thanks to Angel Police Officer
Giving birth is a trying experience, and labor can last for hours on end. Complications can occur. Anything could go wrong.
But most people expect to at least make it to a hospital or birthing center before the true labor begins. The last thing any parent wants is to have their baby on the side of the road.
But this is exactly what happened to one woman from Tennessee. Bridgette Crumley was headed to the hospital with her family, excited to meet her new baby girl, when something didn’t seem right.
“We were heading to the hospital when she just started coming out,” the mom told Fox 17. “My water didn’t even break.”
At that point I would have panicked. Thankfully Crumley wasn’t alone; she had her husband, Bryan, 3-year-old son and mom-in-law by her side.
Still, it’s a scary thing when your baby is coming too quickly. The family pulled over near a car dealership and called 911.
Crumley’s mother-in-law prayed as they anxiously waited for EMS to arrive. Before the ambulance reached them, help came in the form of a single police officer.
“When she arrived, the baby was half out,” Crumley told Fox 17. “She never left my sight and just started to grab and pull while I pushed.”
Officer Sierra Reprogal is with the Dickson Police Department. If she hadn’t helped deliver the baby, Crumley fears the worst could have happened.
Instead, mom and baby are doing just fine. They made it to the hospital safe and sound and are so thankful for the “angel” officer who came to their rescue.
They even added Reprogal’s name to the baby’s. “So now there is a change of plans,” Crumley wrote on Facebook. “Instead of Isabella Marie Crumley, it is now Isabella Sierra-Marie Crumley.”
Reprogal said she’s honored to be a part of Isabella’s name. “You both are unbelievably strong!” the officer wrote on Facebook. “It means so much that you guys decided to add my name to her beautiful name.”
Wow! What an eventful night! What began as a scary drive to the hospital at 2 a.m. ended with smiles all around for baby Isabella and her family.
Way to go, Officer Reprogal! And welcome to the world, Isabella Sierra-Marie! There are so many wonderful blessings everywhere you look.
