Mom Shows Up at Daughter's College After She Doesn't Respond to Text or Calls for 3 Days
Oh, the joys of parenting. All too soon our little ones grow up and leave the nest. They want to be independent but will never understand they’ll always be our babies.
College is expensive. Some schools are notoriously known as the “party schools,” but we all know that no matter which school your kids attend, there’s going to be a party somewhere.
For some teens, college is their first trip down independence lane. They can stay out as late as they want, skip class, eat ice cream for breakfast … the sky’s the limit.
One mom wasn’t buying it, though. She was paying for her daughter’s higher education and decided there was no way her daughter was going to mess around at school.
Nicole Walters is an internet celebrity known for her hilarious videos and savvy entrepreneur know-how.
Walters is a motivational speaker and influencer who desires to help you “find the confidence and clarity you need to grow your business, change your life and experience the abundance of freedom, money can’t buy.”
She sounds like superwoman, but Walters is also a mom and a wife who worries about her kids just like the rest of us.
When her 18-year-old daughter headed off to college, Walters worried like any parent would. When she and her husband didn’t hear from their daughter for three days, they decided to investigate.
A hilarious video posted in 2017 shows you don’t mess with this woman. Nothing was going to stop her from showing up at her daughter’s dorm room door with some fresh fruit and a warning.
Watch as she walks around her daughter’s campus and shares with viewers exactly what she did when her daughter went AWOL.
“Here’s some bananas because potassium’s important.” This woman is too much! She may just be my new hero.
“We also made a flyer for her to put in her room…The flyer says, ‘Is my daughter being irresponsible?’ with a picture of her face.”
Walters proceeds to share how the flyer called for people to tweet her if they caught her daughter being irresponsible. Anyone who did so would receive a free pizza and a $10 Starbucks gift card.
She says the flyer was posted to her Facebook page, but it seems to have since been removed. Walters never actually posted the flyer around campus — it appears her daughter took the warning seriously.
“The BigTiny’s been checking in with texts,” an updated post from later in August of 2017 reads, “all the viral video stuff made her the coolest freshman on campus!”
The viral video has been shared over 6 million times to date. Wow! What a great idea. I may have to try this someday, but hopefully I won’t need to. Thanks for the tip, Nicole!
