MSM Bites Their Tongue After Antifa Thug Hospitalizes Pro-Trumper in "Peaceful" Protest
A 56-year-old supporter of President Donald Trump went into cardiac arrest this weekend after being assaulted outside a pro-Trump event in New York City — and almost nobody decided to pick up the story.
According to the New York Daily News, the event happened inside the FREQNYC nightclub in midtown Manhattan on Saturday night.
The event was alternately described as “alt-right,” “far-right” and “right-wing” by various news outlets. It is known that right-wing provocateur and conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich was at the event, which WCBS-TV said was meant to celebrate the first year of the Trump presidency.
Cernovich described the black-clad man who hit and choked the 56-year-old supporter as a member of the so-called “antifa” movement.

The event, “A Night for Freedom,” was protested by the predictable “peaceful” group of leftists, one of whom yelled, “Nazi scum, go away!” according to the Daily News.
The event was billed as a “gathering of patriots and political dissidents who are bored with mainstream political events.”
It included at least one unexpected figure, according to the Daily News:
“Perhaps the most surprising guest at the event was Chelsea Manning, the transgender former Army private convicted of the largest leak of classified documents in American history.
“It was not clear why Manning, who was planning to run for a Maryland Senate seat as a Democrat, attended the conservative gala.”
Regardless of who attended, they weren’t bored, thanks to hooliganry from the left. As the 56-year-old left the event at about 10:30 p.m., he was hit by a black-clad protester, witnesses said.
“I saw him hit the old man,” witness Ali Thomas, 24, told the Daily News. “One hit. He swung hard. He hit him hard. The old man’s head hit the curb.”
The man was also choked and was in cardiac arrest when police arrived. CPR was performed and the man was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
He was later reported to be in stable condition. David Campbell, a 30-year-old resident of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, was arrested in the attack.
Police announced Sunday that he was charged with strangulation, possession of a weapon, assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and loitering.
The 56-year-old man wasn’t the only one menaced by the crowd, either. James O’Keefe, the filmmaker behind Project Veritas, was also harassed by a group of protesters.
Antifa spotted me walking outside @Cernovich Night for Freedom, had me surrounded, bypassed NYPD, started to charge, had to turn phone off as was trapped in violent mob for 10 minutes w a few cops escorting me to car, jumped into backseat of @ImAndrewMarcus car. @JackPosobiec pic.twitter.com/MD2KDYLxmM

Cernovich, for his part, seemed to relish the attention.
“I think what people haven’t realized yet is if you just leave me alone, I would go away,” Cernovich said from inside the party. It isn’t clear whether or not he knew about the assault at the time the comment was made.
Despite the fact that this was an assault on a man for his political beliefs that almost left him dead, there was almost no coverage. The Daily News, the New York Post and WCBS were the only local outlets to cover the crime and almost no coverage was given nationally.
It’s also worth noting that almost all of the pieces emphasized that the meeting was “far-right” or “alt-right.” It’s almost as if they were saying, “yes, sure, this man was assaulted, but surely you concede he deserved it?“
This is an ugly time, when antifa is lionized for violence yet peaceful individuals can be targeted just for having the wrong political beliefs. The media’s complicity in this via their silence is truly vile. It’s time for them to stop biting their tongue and start reporting on antifa’s politically motivated thuggery.
