NBA Player Reportedly Suspended over Hotel Bill
The Golden State Warriors suspended forward Jordan Bell for one game for conduct detrimental to the team, the team announced Wednesday.
Bell was suspended for the Warriors game Wednesday night at Memphis, which Golden State won 118-103.
Coach Steve Kerr was asked about Bell’s suspension after the game but didn’t elaborate on the reason for it.
“The release was self-explanatory, he was suspended for tonight’s game for conduct detrimental to the team,” Kerr said. “Beyond that, it’s our business and nobody else’s.”

Kerr was asked about Bell again, specifically his maturity, and he said, “No, I’m not concerned. I’m not commenting on anything further.”

While Kerr didn’t provide details on why Bell was suspended, The Athletic did.
Anthony Slater and Sam Amick, citing league sources, said Bell made a purchase at the Warriors’ team hotel in Memphis and charged it to assistant coach Mike Brown.
What he charged to Brown is not clear, but if it was meant as a joke, the team didn’t find it funny.
“Brown was alerted to the charge. He inquired about it. The staff at The Peabody hotel, where the team stayed, confirmed its purchase. So the Warriors launched a quick investigation and it became clear that Bell is the one who put it on Brown’s bill. There was concern, sources say, that this wasn’t the first time Bell has pulled this maneuver on some unknowing member of the organization,” Slater and Amick wrote.

Social media, of course, had a field day speculating what that purchase might have been.

Bell, 24, is in his second year with the Warriors. The 6-foot-9, 224-pound former Oregon star is a bench player for Golden State.
He’s played in 61 games this year but has started just two.
Bell averages 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game.
