NBA rookie arrested and tased in bizarre incident
Milwaukee Bucks rookie Sterling Brown is looking to make a name for himself in his first NBA season.
He did just that early Friday morning, but it’s not the kind of news he should be proud of.
Brown was arrested and tased by Milwaukee police after a dispute over handicap parking spaces.
Per WISN-AM, police were conducting a standard business check at around 2 a.m. Friday when they noticed Brown’s Mercedes double-parked in two disabled spaces outside of a Walgreens drugstore.
While the officers were writing a parking ticket, Brown confronted them and reportedly became combative. Police said they needed to use a taser to help subdue the 6-foot-6, 230-pound rookie.
Per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, circumstances of the incident and the use of force are being reviewed by the Milwaukee Police Department.
Brown was arrested on a misdemeanor charge for resisting arrest and was booked and released from the Milwaukee County Jail.

The Bucks happened to have a game on Friday night and Brown was in uniform. A reporter for WDJT-TV in Milwaukee said Brown was one of the first Bucks players on the court for the morning shootaround.
“It’s a personal issue I’m dealing with right now,” Brown told reporters before the game.
As for the game, Brown played 27 minutes off the bench in a 116-91 Bucks victory over the Nets. He shot 1-for-7 from the floor with four points and nine rebounds.
It was the second game for the Bucks under coach Joe Prunty after the team fired Jason Kidd, and the team improved to 2-0.
When asked if there would be any team-issued discipline for Brown, Prunty said, “We believe it will be resolved quickly.”
Brown was a second-round pick by the Bucks in last year’s draft after four seasons at SMU. He was coached in college by Hall of Famer Larry Brown.
Larry Brown also coached Sterling’s older brother, Shannon Brown, with Charlotte.
The two brothers got to play together earlier this season when Sterling was sent down to the Bucks’ G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. Shannon is currently playing for the Herd and came out of a two-year retirement in order to play alongside his brother.
