Newborn's Photo Shoot Turns Into Real Life Fairy Tale as Deer Approaches
As very young children, we often drift off to sleep amidst stories of fair maidens and magical lands. Sometimes, we start hearing these tales at such a young age that we can’t even follow what’s happening.
But then we get a little older, and these enchanted yarns start shaping our imaginations. Visions of towering castles, terrible trolls and talking wildlife amble through our heads.
We find ourselves captivated by these incredible figures. Frequently, it doesn’t even occur to us they’re fairy tales until we enter grade school.
Yet still, those charmed concepts continue to entrance us.
We pretend we’re flying through the air on a noble winged stallion. We reenact splendid sword fights in the wooded clearing behind our garage.
Of course, we eventually come to realize that real life doesn’t remotely resemble these make-believe scenarios. Unfortunately, a noble prince isn’t always poised to save us from the dark, shadowy forest.
But every so often, that mystical world still peeks through. Photographer Megan Rion can tell you something about this.
Rion resides in Louisiana, where she’s set up a studio called Imagine That. According to her website, she especially enjoys capturing sweet maternity, baby and family images.
Recently, Rion was working with new mom Tiffany Gill Rogers and her 1-month-old son, Connor. The Rogers family resides in nearby Lake Charles.
As a skilled photographer, Rion wanted to set up a shot that captured the colors of fall. So she gently set little Connor on a hay bale, then arranged some vibrant leaves and pumpkins near his tiny noggin.
Once everything looked perfect, Rion began clicking away. Tall Louisiana timbers stood in the background, and the photos were turning out beautifully.
Almost as if on cue, a curious doe crept out from an adjacent clearing. Quietly, the shy deer made her way toward Baby Connor.
There’s no way anyone could plan or pose such a one-in-a-million shot. Enthralled mom Rogers actually began taking a video of the whole encounter.
Meanwhile, Rion continued silently snapping pictures. She knew any sudden move might break the beguiling spell and ruin the breathtaking moment.
It’s fair to assume the deer was drawn by those tasty-looking gourds and seasonal goodies. But it’s also fun to imagine some actual magic was truly at work that day.
Rion later posted some footage on Facebook, where it was picked up by Live Love Hunt and other media outlets. The images continue to cause a collective sigh all across social media.
Rion herself certainly understood the rarity of the situation, and so did Connor’s proud parent. As Rogers wryly told The Advocate, “I can almost guarantee his two-month pictures will be disappointing compared to this.”
