NFL Player Kendrick Norton Gives 'Glory to God' After Losing Arm in Accident
An NFL player whose arm was amputated after a car accident July 4 is glad to be alive and sharing his Christian faith.
Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton crashed his Ford F-250 into a concrete barrier on a highway in Miami, and the vehicle overturned.
His left arm was amputated at the scene.
Norton, 22, survived the crash and could end up receiving a prosthetic arm, according to Sports Spectrum. However, with the injury, his NFL career would seem to be over.
In spite of that, Norton is in good spirits and grateful to God and those who prayed for him.
In an Instagram story post this week, he wrote, “I’m good thank you to everyone that checked on me!!! I’m good thanks for the prayers to God be the glory.”
The photo that accompanied those words showed Norton’s hand giving a thumb’s up sign while he lies in a hospital bed.

It’s clear that Norton’s faith is a huge reason he is staying upbeat despite the loss of his arm and, most likely, his career.
His Twitter bio points to his focus. It reads, simply, “#Christ.”
A number of people and organizations said they were praying for Norton after the crash.
This included the Miami Dolphins, who tweeted, “We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time.”

Since Norton played his college ball at the University of Miami, a pair of coaches from the school also offered their prayers.
Current Hurricanes head football coach Manny Diaz wrote, “The U family is praying for Kendrick, his family and the medical professionals helping him this morning.”

Norton was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. They cut him prior to the start of the season, and in December 2018, the Dolphins signed him to their practice squad.
He said in May that he was working hard to make an impact in Miami this season.
“I’ve just been coming out, refocusing, trying to stay hungry, focusing on the small stuff and taking all the things I learned last season and trying to apply them,” Norton said.
