NFL QB has been in league so long, his daughter is nearly same age as new teammate
After 15 seasons in the NFL, not much fazes Josh McCown anymore.
This guy played for the Browns, Lions and now the Jets, after all.
But New York’s first-round pick in Thursday night’s NFL draft was a little different.
McCown knew when he re-signed with the Jets that part of his role was going to be mentoring the team’s latest “quarterback of the future.”
What he didn’t realize, however, was that said quarterback would be young enough to be his son.
That’s what happened when the Jets chose 20-year-old Sam Darnold out of USC with the third overall selection.
This fact was brought to McCown’s attention by none other than his 19-year-old daughter, Bridget.

The soon-to-be-39-year-old QB is used to laughing at himself, especially when it comes from his family.

In his first year with his eighth NFL team, McCown had his best season, with 18 touchdowns and just nine interceptions before breaking his hand.
He was already the senior quarterback on the Jets’ depth chart, which also includes Teddy Bridgewater (25), Bryce Petty (26) and Christian Hackenberg (23).
But now there’s a teammate who is less than a year older than his daughter.
The big question heading into offseason workouts is, will Darnold call his elder “Josh” or “Mr. McCown”?
Maybe we should ask Bridget.
