Officials Say Migrants Are Only Being "Playful" When They Riot
France is burning, but leaders want to just nervously laugh it off.
It’s hard to come to any other conclusion after seeing how the media and elitists in Europe are trying to downplay a rash of arson that occurred around New Year’s Eve.
Despite the fact that over 1,000 vehicles were torched in France over the holiday — and immigrants are believed to be largely responsible — the government is pretending that everything is fine.
“French authorities have been accused of a cover-up after claiming New Year’s Eve ‘went off without any major incident’ despite more than 1,000 cars being torched in arson attacks,'” Breitbart News reported not long after the holiday.
“This led the national newspaper Le Monde to accuse authorities of deliberately being unclear,” Breitbart reported. “The populist Front National (FN) party implied dishonesty and slammed the state’s ‘unbearable laxity.'”
Now, a prominent French sociologist is trying to sweep the alarming incidents under the rug, and claiming that migrants torching hundreds upon hundreds of cars is just… well, horseplay.
“French Sociologist Michel Wieviorka claims that the acts of vandalism are ‘above all, playful’ and that they do not have a political dimension,” Breitbart stated. Emphasis added.
“It is very easy, technically, to set a vehicle on fire and run away immediately,” Wieviorka explained.
What, you didn’t play “torch the city” when you were a fun-loving youth?
The sociologist, who has written several books about “social change,” admitted that immigrant “youths” were most likely behind the arson attacks.
“It’s obvious that they are youths from lower-income neighborhoods,” he told 20 Minutes in French, according to a translation. “It was said that they were young people from the working class, immigrants.”
It should be pointed out that “immigrant youths” is a frequent European euphemism for Muslim migrants. After Portugal, the two most common countries for immigrants to enter France from are Algeria and Morocco. Both those source nations have nearly 99 percent Islamic populations.
Regardless of where the “youths” come from, the simple fact is that covering up and downplaying what is going on in Europe is a major red flag. Contrary to what this prominent sociologist says, rioting on a holiday and burning a thousand vehicles is not “playful” — and it should not be acceptable.
Culture matters. Western culture, which included France in the not-so-distant-past, respects private property and understands that destructive actions have consequences.
Sure, criminals can be found in every country, and pranks or boisterous celebrations aren’t a new phenomenon. A thousand cars up in smoke and flames goes far beyond a prank, however. It is not “boys being boys.”
This is a glimpse at a culture that is completely foreign, both literally and figuratively, and is not compatible with what we consider modern civilization.
The fact that European governments and social experts are trying to downplay and cover up these incidents should say a lot about how deep the problem has become… and it doesn’t bode well for the future of the continent.
