Owners Can't Get Enough of Sweet Golden Retriever Who Can't Get Enough of Sweet Newborn
Kids and their pets — is there anything more adorable? They say dog is a man’s best friend, but some viral photos on social media might change the phrase to “baby’s best friend.”
Golden Retriever lovers beware. This story just might give you Golden Retriever fever. In February, Today reported that a couple from California welcomed a baby girl into the family last year.
Her name is Hanes and she’s an absolute princess. But her most adoring family member doesn’t walk on two legs.
Berkeley, affectionately known as “Berkeley the Golden Girl” on Instagram, is a Golden Retriever who can’t get enough of baby girl Hanes.
The family brought Hanes home to meet Berkeley for the first time on July 13, 2017. The sweet 2-year-old pup was so excited to meet her “baby sis.”
More photos and video have been shared on Instagram since then, inviting thousands of views from followers.
It’s easy to see why. Berkeley is a natural with Hanes. Gentle and kind and loving. Oh, I just want to hug this sweet dog!
Golden Retrievers are known to be among the best dog breeds for babies and children. According to SheKnows, “This breed is very well mannered, extremely intelligent, gentle and patient as well as very easily trained.”
SheKnows goes on to note that “Golden retrievers are great watchdogs as well and have a very strong protective instinct around children.”
Family Minded agrees. The site included Golden Retrievers on their list of “The Best Dog Breeds for Infants.”
“Loving and loyal, there’s a reason these dogs were the featured protagonist in the iconic family movie Homeward Bound,” Family Minded says.
No wonder Berkeley and Hanes get along so well! The most recent photo of the pair was posted on Instagram in January.
My Golden-loving heart can only hope there will be more photos and videos of these best friends soon. They’re just the cutest!
