Panicking Mom Takes Toddler & Screaming 4-Month-Old on Plane, Learns She's Seated Next to Angel
Jessica Rudeen, a mother of two, had a personal assistant as she traveled by plane with her 3-year-old daughter, Caroline, and 4-month-old son, Alexander. If you have small children, you might be thinking that an assistant is an unattainable luxury for you and most parents.
However, Rudeen did not plan on having this assistant, or perhaps angel is a more accurate term, to be sitting next to her. She panicked as she boarded her first flight alone with Caroline and Alexander.
Thankfully, she was not truly alone. A man named Todd was assigned to the seat next to Rudeen’s family.
Soon, Alexander was screaming because he wanted to nurse. Caroline also began screaming and crying that she wanted to get off the plane.
Many strangers would feel as if they got assigned the worst seat on the entire plane if they were Todd, but he felt much differently. The situation, as chaotic as it seemed in the moment, reminded him of his own wife and two sons when they were young.
A stranger showed his own wife unexpected kindness in the midst of a stressful flight. He wanted to do the same for Rudeen.
Todd began by holding the baby so Rudeen could calm down Caroline and fasten her seat belt. Throughout the flight, Todd watched a movie with Caroline on her tablet as they colored together.
They also looked out the window together. Their row went from the emitting screams of two upset children to quiet chatter between Todd and Caroline while Alexander peacefully sat with Rudeen.
Todd definitely seemed like an angel to Rudeen when she learned he had the same connecting flight. He even changed his seat so that he could sit next to the family again!
“I’m not sure if he caught the kiss she landed on his shoulder while they were looking out the window…I am blown away by God’s hand in this because we could have been placed next to anyone, but we were seated next to one of the nicest men I have ever met in my life,” Rudeen wrote on Facebook.
Part of her goal in sharing the post about Todd on Facebook was to see if she could find him. Rudeen later shared an update that Todd’s wife connected with her, and they hope to all meet up soon.
