Ron Paul Shares Horrifying Story Showing Why He's Pro-Life

Share

Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul has spent many years talking about the importance of protecting human life from abortion.

As noted by OnTheIssues, the former medical physician has positioned himself as being a pro-life stalwart who believes the federal government using taxpayer money to fund abortion is arguably the most immoral policy ever created.

Further illustrating that important viewpoint, Paul published a horrifying story to his Facebook page Feb. 13 detailing why he is pro-life and against abortion.

In his post, Paul spoke about a story that he included in his new book: “Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom.”

Paul detailed a situation in which he witnessed an abortion sometime in the 1960s, when abortion was illegal, while he was working as an OB/GYN resident.

He recalled that was a complete lack of empathy for the victim of the sick process that was taking place.

“It [the aborted fetus] was placed in a bucket, crying, and struggling to breathe, and the medical personnel pretended not to notice,” Paul wrote, describing the scene.

He said after the crying had stopped, meaning the baby had died, the experience changed his entire outlook on the issue.

Paul said that horrifying moment magnified the importance of human life and showed him that taking the life of an innocent baby was not something he believed was moral.

Do you agree with Ron Paul's stance on abortion?

Paul said another pregnant woman came into the surgical suite later that day, but unlike the medical team who performed an abortion, everyone in the room did everything they could to save the child’s life.

“My conclusion that day was that we were overstepping the bounds of morality by picking and choosing who should live and who should die,” Paul wrote.

He added: “These were human lives. There was no consistent moral basis to the value of life under these circumstances.”

Paul’s story is absolutely chilling, and its message should shake every reader to the core.

As Paul noted, how can those who claim to be pro-choice not be haunted by the thought of the violence associated with taking an innocent life?

Paul has always argued that he believes states should have the right to choose how they handle abortions, and that the state should be allowed to confine violence against any person it so chooses.

He also wrote in his Facebook post that he still disagrees with Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case that was decided by the Supreme Court and legalized abortion nationwide.

The court ruled that a woman’s right to have an abortion was within the right to privacy that was protected under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Like many Americans, Paul wants to reduce the overreaching nature of the federal government and give more power back to the states to make their own decisions about issues.

Abortion is an extremely sensitive topic for most, but Paul’s story has shed new light on how the practice of killing innocent babies is horrifying, despite liberals claiming there’s nothing wrong with it.

Paul, like many doctors, is well aware of how dark and chilling the practice of abortion is.
