Peyton Manning went to an NBA game and his 6-year-old son stole the whole show
Peyton Manning has kept a relatively low profile since retiring after the 2015 season. He still pops up in commercials from time to time, but he hasn’t tipped his hand as to what his next career move will be.
Many have speculated that Manning could head to the broadcasting booth or go into coaching. His name is currently being thrown around for the color commentator position on “Monday Night Football” just as his name was mentioned for the head coaching opening with the Tennessee Volunteers.
Another possibility for Manning is to pursue ownership of a franchise, and while Manning could certainly look to join an NFL ownership group, he already has a stake in another pro sports franchise — just not an NFL one.
Manning and his wife, Ashley, are part of the ownership group of the Memphis Grizzlies. Ashley is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, but the Manning family has resided in Denver since Peyton joined the Broncos.
On Friday night, Manning and his 6-year-old son, Marshall, got a chance to see their team as the Grizzlies visited the Denver Nuggets.
Sitting courtside, Peyton was introduced to the crowd and appeared on the Jumbotron. While the former QB modestly smiled and waved to the cheering fans, Marshall soaked up the spotlight as any 6-year-old would.
The Grizzlies-Nuggets game just happened to fall on ’80s Night in the Pepsi Center, and Marshall acted probably the same way Peyton did in the 1980s when he was watching his father, Archie, play in the NFL.
This isn’t the first time that Marshall has upstaged his dad at a sporting event. During the 2017 preseason, the two were on hand for a Broncos game when the younger Manning had a surprise ice attack on his dad.

Getting hit in the back by a cup of ice probably isn’t what Manning had in mind in retirement, but it still beats getting hit in the back by Terrell Suggs or J.J. Watt.
Still haven’t gotten enough of Marshall Manning?
After the 2015 AFC championship game, which was Manning’s second-to-last NFL game, Marshall joined Peyton at the podium for the postgame press conference.
Peyton’s press conference was nothing out of the ordinary, but Marshall stole the show with a photo that inspired a thousand memes.

No one knows where Peyton Manning is going to end up next, but wherever he goes, let’s hope he brings Marshall along with him.
