PGA Tour Golfer Gets Partially Undressed To Hit Incredible Clutch Shot
It is said that you learn something new every day, and that doing so enhances your life.
But when the something that you learn is “no shirt, no shoes, no service does not apply on a golf course,” maybe it behooves to ponder that some lessons have greater value than others.
Golfer Drew Nesbitt, on the bubble of making the first cut of his PGA Tour career, hit off the tee and the ball sought out refreshment in a nearby water hazard.
Nesbitt, at even par and playing in just the second PGA Tour event — and not about to take a penalty to drop his ball in a more playable lie — decided to play it where it lies. In order to avoid soaking his clothes, measures had to be taken.
It’s easier to show than to tell:

Off came the shirt. Pant legs were rolled up. Out came the golf club, swinging at the half-submerged ball.
When the shot was done, he may not have been on the green, but Nesbitt was literally out of the water.
His third shot, from 50 yards out, landed just four feet from the hole, where Nesbitt saved par, saved his round, and made the cut on the number.
Which also means that he has a chance over the weekend to drink from a more delicious well, namely the prize money that accompanies players who make it to Saturday.
What’s more, he staved off disaster, putting him one up on the poor soul named Ben DeArmond, who shot the worst single-hole score in PGA history.
Nesbitt didn’t need another player’s ball to stop his own on that chip shot to four feet, either.
Nor did he take forever to play; he did what needed to be done and kept the game moving.
This is far from the first time a player has put the “hazard” in “water hazard;” Peter Malnati, on the Web.com tour, had a more ill-fated attempt in 2015 in which the golf gods chortled at his hubris:
“Are you kidding me? All of that for that?”

It is also not the first time a golfer has flouted the no-shirt-no-shoes-no-service principle; Henrik Stenson memorably did that in 2009, stripping all the way down to just a pair of boxer shorts and a golf glove.
And just to one-up Stenson, Nesbitt saved par. Stenson had to settle for a bogey after his nudist-camp impression.
You gotta love a guy with the dedication and complete lack of shame to show off the dad-bod physique common to the professional golfer.
The PGA rookie just made a few fans who will be rooting for him to earn — preferably while fully clothed — his way up the money list this year.
