Philadelphia Eagle takes direct aim at 'Trump supporters' after Super Bowl win
The Philadelphia Eagles lived out a real-life Rocky Balboa story when they upset the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII.
Naturally, some trash talking from the Eagles is to be expected.
After all, to the victor goes the spoils.
Eagles receiver Alshon Jeffrey took a playful jab at the Patriots’ private jets after the win.

Another reward for winning the Super Bowl has traditionally been the champions visit to the White House.
It’s an opportunity many Americans will never be afforded, and it’s a chance to be honored by the highest office in the nation.
Lately, however, athletes have been using the White House as a political platform.
The NBA-champion Golden State Warriors had their invitation to the White House rescinded by President Donald Trump after waffling on the politics of the visit.
Much fuss was made about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady skipping the visit last year, even though Brady was reportedly tending to his ailing mother.
This year, the dynamics are a little different.
Trump has waged a cultural war with the NFL after he ripped the league’s national anthem protesters in September. Despite that, Trump still congratulated the Eagles for their Super Bowl win.

While no players on the Eagles knelt during the anthem this season, several raised their fists as a form of protest.
Notably, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins raised his fist for most of the year. Jenkins went on CNN on Monday and said that he doesn’t plan on visiting the White House.

Jenkins isn’t the only one. Eagles defensive end Chris Long has also said he would not visit Trump’s White House.
Interestingly, the strongest stance against Trump seems to stem from receiver Torrey Smith. He once called Trump the most divisive person in the world in a since-deleted tweet.
Smith doubled down on those comments by directly addressing Trump’s supporters in a tweet after he helped win a Super Bowl.

Undoubtedly, many people probably called out Smith for saying that he wouldn’t visit the White House in the event of an Eagles Super Bowl win. After all, it’s never wise to count one’s eggs before they’re hatched.
But as much credit as Smith deserves for calling the Eagles shot, it’s debatable if it’s a good look for Smith to tweet the playground equivalent of saying “neener-neener.”
The Eagles have planned a Super Bowl parade for Thursday. There is still no word as to whether Trump will actually extend an invitation to the team to visit the White House.
There are unsubstantiated reports claiming the Eagles have already decided as a team to boycott a visit to the White House.
