Record: GOP Raises $213 Million in Fastest Time Ever, 99% From Small Donors
The Republican National Committee has smashed fundraising records by raising $213 million so far for the fall midterm elections, 99 percent of which came from small donations.
An RNC official said that this is the fastest they have passed the $200 million mark during a midterm election year, suggesting that people appear to still be pleased with President Donald Trump and his administration’s agenda, according to the Washington Examiner.
“What I see when I travel the country is that Americans continue to be enthusiastic about President Trump and the Republican agenda,” Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said. “That enthusiasm has allowed for me to grow our war chest and invest it into what has become the biggest ground game in our party’s history.”
Since taking the job in January, McDaniel has held over 88 fundraising events and is on the phone with donors for six hours a day, the Washington Examiner reported. She has also added over 100,000 new contributors.

According to fundraising numbers that will be released officially on Friday, the RNC also broke the record for the most amount of money raised in June during a non-presidential election year: $13.9 million.
“President Trump and Chairman McDaniel have successfully leveraged enthusiasm to attract a brand new contingent of online donors and these new donors aren’t just one time donors — they are more-than-likely to donate multiple times. This is contrary to claims that our initial success with online donors would be short lived as it was just spillover enthusiasm from Trump’s election in November,” the RNC said.
The GOP also has $50.7 million on hand and zero debt, placing them well ahead of the Democratic National Committee.
Thus far, the DNC has raised over $101 million and has $9 million, CNN reported, five times less than the amount of money the RNC has on hand.
The DNC’s fundraising woes are not new. In 2017, the DNC only raised $67 million compared to the $132.5 million raised by the RNC.
ProPublica noted that the DNC is also deep in debt, owing just over $5.7 million after May’s filing.
Democratic Party Chair Tom Perez told CNN that he is working on strategic investing as well as fundraising.
“For me, the north star is not can we match (the RNC) dollar for dollar. It is can we raise the money we need to execute our game plan,” Perez said.
McDaniel wants to invest $250 million into the Republican party’s midterm efforts, so she has spent a majority of her time traveling to 29 different states for fundraising, according to the Washington Examiner.
It is pretty clear that the efforts of McDaniel and the rest of the RNC are paying off as donations keep coming in.
Despite the establishment media’s narratives about Trump and his policies, it looks like Americans are pretty happy with the idea of keeping Republicans in control of Congress.
