Republican Senator Smacks Down Dems' Call for Trump Tax Release: 'It Must Really Suck To Be That Dumb'

Share

Democrats who insist on seeing President Trump’s tax returns might not want to cross paths with Sen. John Kennedy.

The Louisiana Republican known for speaking his mind didn’t pull any punches during a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Kennedy took aim at Massachusetts Rep. Richard Neal, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee who wants Trump’s taxes so badly that he wrote a request to the Internal Revenue Service.

“It must really suck to be that dumb,” Kennedy said during the April 5 Tapper interview, noting that Americans won’t fall for such nonsense. “Words can’t express how much I don’t care. It’s not Mr. Neal’s call.”

Kennedy was speaking not only on behalf of Republicans but for Trump supporters nationwide. If voters were concerned about the man’s taxes, he wouldn’t have won the 2016 election.

Kennedy’s shot across the bow was a bull’s-eye and perhaps the most effective political use of the word “suck” since Ross Perot’s assertion in 1992 about a “giant sucking sound” of American jobs ending up in Mexico.

In a Sunday interview with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that members of Congress probably wouldn’t know what to make of the president’s tax returns even if they were served up for public consumption.

“My guess is that most of them don’t do their own taxes,” she said.

Do you agree with Sen. John Kennedy?

Sanders sliced congressional Democrats to ribbons and rightfully so. The reality is, the left will do anything to take down the president.

California Rep. Adam Schiff, for instance, has publicly stated, in effect, that he still refuses to believe the Trump 2016 presidential campaign didn’t collude with Russia, even though special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has ended without turning up any evidence of it.

How typical and foreseeable that after giving Mueller their unwavering support for almost two years, now Democrats and the liberal media are in denial. Never mind that Attorney General William Barr concluded that so-called collusion is nothing more than a delusion — as far as Democrats are concerned, he shouldn’t be trusted.

Clearly, the Democrats’ strategy heading into 2020 is to keep moving the goal posts.

In 2016, allegations of Trump committing sexual assault didn’t sway voters. So, Democrats and most of the shameless media hitched their wagon to a star — that is, Mueller and his collusion probe — which proved to be a black hole.

And now? They’re trotting out the tired and futile demand for Trump’s tax returns while insisting that he must be “hiding” something.

The Democrats’ desperation is as palpable as their lack of shame. As Kennedy told Tapper, it boils down to the fact Rep. Neal “doesn’t think the president oughta be president.”

In turn, one must wonder: Are Democrats even doing the jobs for which they were elected? How can anybody tell?

These days, the only obvious thing in the nation’s capital is that Neal and his sanctimonious cohorts have taken poor sportsmanship to another level. You can’t swing a dead cat around them without hitting a sore loser.
