Rosie Just Called for Trump To 'Rot in Jail' After He Did Same Thing Her Hero Obama Did

Share

Liberal actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell made a sickening statement on Twitter Wednesday about President Donald Trump and increases in the federal budget deficit — while completely ignoring what the last Democrat president did when he was in office.

Leftists have suddenly become shrewd fiscal hawks because the federal budget deficit is continuing to rise under Trump.

Of course, the left doesn’t really care about how much money the government is spending. In fact, they cheered on former President Barack Obama and his ruinously expensive programs.

The left is completely willing to practice hypocrisy as long as they have a chance to attack Trump, as O’Donnell proved on Wednesday.

O’Donnell claimed that Trump is a “madman” adding “may he rot in jail” in response to a report from a Daily Beast reporter about Trump’s allegedly cavalier attitude toward the rising deficit.

The report by Daily Beast White Houst reporter Asawin Suebsaeng claims that Trump responded “yeah, but I won’t be here,” when senior officials showed him charts relating to the national debt.

So on a day when the rest of country — including Trump — was mourning former President George H.W. Bush, O’Donnell was taking potshots at the president based on single-source reporting from a reporter with a decidedly biased publication. Nice.

Is the left hypocritical for attacking Trump on the budget?

While it’s true that Trump needs to work on the national debt, he’s already pushing for spending cuts.

In October, Trump instructed his cabinet members to make a 5 percent cut to their budgets.

“I’m going to ask each of you to come back with a five percent budget cut from your various departments — whether it’s a secretary or administrator or whatever — I’m going to ask everybody to come back with a five percent cut for our next meeting,” Trump said.

Of course, O’Donnell wouldn’t acknowledge Trump’s efforts.

O’Donnell also failed to criticize Obama for increasing the national debt by over $8 trillion.

Her feud with Trump isn’t entirely political. They’ve been locked in battle since 2006, according to a CNN timeline when O’Donnell, then a co-host on ABC’s “The View,” criticized Trump for his decision not to fire Miss USA Tara Conner after revelations of Conner’s drug use.

Many of the left’s attacks against Trump are similar to O’Donnell’s attacks: personal and not based in policy.

For Americans who care about the economy or the country’s standing in the world, there is little to actually complain about the Trump presidency, especially in comparison to Obama’s disastrous two terms.

Lilberals only care about attacking Trump at all costs, even if it makes themselves look like hypocrites.
