Huge: Rush To Go on Campaign Trail With Trump, Appear at Final Stop

Share

I live in Missouri and I can tell you it has been absolutely amazing to watch this midterm campaign season.

Democrat Claire McCaskill is a very skilled and seasoned politician. Republicans have been trying to unseat her since her election in 2006, and I think there is a good chance of knocking her off the senior senator pedestal this time around.

Missouri has been one of the nation’s battleground states that could flip its seat from blue to red in this midterm and all eyes have been on Republican candidate Josh Hawley, Missouri’s attorney general, since before the primary season began.

President Donald Trump has also coveted this race as he has been to Missouri to campaign six times prior to his upcoming visit on Monday night. In fact he was just in Columbia, Missouri, on Thursday and spoke before a packed house.

It all comes to an end on Tuesday, but perhaps the biggest flourish to the electricity that has been alive in the air here is anticipation of the president’s final campaign stop in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Election Coverage 2024

It’s his last of the midterm season and it promises to be a show stopper because he’s bringing Cape Girardeau native Rush Limbaugh with him.

Here’s a video of the president’s visit to Columbia, Missouri, on Thursday. While he speaks enthusiastically about Hawley and the dire need to retire Claire McCaskill, notice the packed crowd enthusiastically embracing his messaging.

It was a cold and rainy day in mid-Missouri on Thursday night when the president landed there. Most of those people walked three miles, from where they parked their cars, in the rain to see him. And it doesn’t look to have dampened their spirits or enthusiasm.

Will Rush Limbaugh help the president turn up voter enthusiasm in Missouri?

The election eve rally will likely be no different, with the political rock star lineup joining an already popular president.

RealClearPolitics average has McCaskill and Hawley in a tie, but as in the 2016 election polls were way off the mark here in Missouri, and since polls don’t take voter enthusiasm into account, I’m hoping for a stunning and wide margin Hawley win.

Missourians carried President Trump to victory by almost 19 points in 2016 and it’s likely he’s hoping his popularity in the Show Me State will carry Hawley to similar outcomes.
