Special Olympics Player Puts Steph Curry to Shame with Long-Range Buzzer-Beater
If you like buzzer-beaters, and who doesn’t, you’ll love this one.
In the Special Olympics, Team USA was playing Team Canada on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and the game ended on an incredible shot by Team USA’s Matt Millett.
With Team USA leading 32-18 and time running down, Millett got a rebound with 3 seconds left, dribbled and let it fly from the opposing team’s foul line.
The shot, from about 75 feet away, hit nothing but net.

It was an amazing shot.
Is there any better way to end a Basketball game?! ? Team @specialolyUSA’s Matthew Millett scores with a Hail Mary from INSIDE his own half in literally the last second of the game! #MeetTheDetermined pic.twitter.com/7mBajc4uRH

In fact, Millett outdid Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, who only one day earlier hit the longest shot in the NBA this year, a 61-foot buzzer-beater to end the first quarter of their game against the San Antonio Spurs.

It was also the longest shot Curry has ever made in a regular season game.
Not only was Millett’s shot made from farther away than Curry’s, but it was also clean — no backboard.

Team USA won the game 35-18.
Millett and his teammates are competing in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi, which run through Thursday.
